We are a growing family of volunteers, educators, farmers, doctors, artists, entrepreneurs, and ordinary citizens with extraordinary purpose. Our leadership is driven by a collective belief that positive change starts with us.
Our Story from the Inception

Nearth was born from the shared vision of five passionate individuals who believed that real change begins with small, purposeful action. Coming from diverse backgrounds across the corporate and professional sectors, we witnessed firsthand how many communities were being left behind by systems meant to support them.
Driven by a deep desire to give back and create lasting impact, we came together to form a different kind of nonprofit—one grounded in compassion, sustainability, and empowerment.
Thus, Nearth—New Earth—was founded, not merely as an organization, but as a movement of hope, healing, and human connection.
Our journey was made possible through the unwavering support of our primary sponsor in the United States, whose faith in our mission enabled us to take our first meaningful steps.

What Drives Us Forward
Environmental Sustainability
Promote climate action by advocating zero emissions, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture. Support reforestation and green supply chains to restore ecosystems and ensure food security. Raise environmental awareness and leverage technology for conservation efforts.
Community Empowerment
Empower women and youth through education, leadership, and skill development. Enhance rural education with improved infrastructure, virtual learning, English Language and IT-focused programs. Support teacher accommodations in remote areas and promote health awareness for women and children. Encourage cultural preservation to celebrate and sustain local traditions.
Health and Wellbeing
Enhance healthcare access by raising awareness and supporting treatment for chronic diseases (Diabetes, Thalassemia, Cancer, and kidney disease), improving clean water availability, and promoting eye care programs. Strengthen mental health support and expand telehealth services to underserved communities.
Establishment of Co-operative societies and relevant culture
Promote cooperative values and support the development of sustainable cooperative enterprises to strengthen local economies. Provide training, market access, and financial resources to empower members and address community challenges. Foster networking, advocacy, and digital innovation while encouraging environmentally sustainable practices.
Gender Sensitivity and Protection of Rights
Promote a gender-sensitive, nonviolent society by raising awareness of women’s and children’s rights and providing legal, medical, and psychological support for survivors. Develop self-reliance programs, support for establishing safe homes, and resource centers for advocacy and information sharing. Foster collaboration among stakeholders to combat violence effectively.
Legal Awareness and Human Rights
Enhance legal literacy in Sri Lanka by educating citizens on fundamental human rights and legal frameworks. Conduct awareness campaigns, collaborate with legal experts, and establish resource centers for accessible legal support. Advocate legal reforms to strengthen human rights protections.
Protection and Support for Foreign Travelers
Provide legal, safety, and travel advisories for foreign travelers in Sri Lanka. Assist with lodging, transport, and local guidance while ensuring access to emergency medical and crisis support services.
Support for Religious and Cultural Institutions
Promote climate action by advocating zero emissions, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture. Support reforestation and green supply chains to restore ecosystems and ensure food security. Raise environmental awareness and leverage technology for conservation efforts.
Animal Welfare and Protection
Promote the welfare of stray and neglected animals, including dogs, cows, and other vulnerable species, by providing shelter, food, and medical care. Establish safe, sanitary, and sustainable facilities to house and rehabilitate these animals. Raise public awareness about animal rights, responsible pet ownership, and humane treatment, while encouraging community engagement in animal rescue and protection initiatives.
Financial Literacy and Protection Against Financial Crimes
Create awareness programs to educate individuals in rural and urban areas on identifying and avoiding financial scams, fraudulent schemes, and predatory practices. Promote financial literacy, safe financial decision-making, and access to reliable advisory support to reduce vulnerability to financial crime.
Democratic Awareness and Civic Engagement
Promote awareness of democratic values, constitutional rights, and civic responsibilities among all citizens. Encourage active participation in democratic processes through education, dialogue, and advocacy. Conduct workshops, community forums, and campaigns to foster transparency, accountability, voter education, and informed decision-making. Support initiatives that uphold the rule of law, freedom of expression, and the protection of democratic institutions while empowering youth and marginalized groups to engage meaningfully in governance and policy dialogue
